When referring to transgender people, the most acceptable terms to use are ‘Trans’ or ‘Transgender.’
Both should be used as adjectives (i.e., “a trans person” or “a transgender person” instead of “a transgender”).
Pronouns are an essential part of a person’s identity, and misusing them can compromise an individual’s sense of safety and comfort.
Most people are already familiar with the “she/her,” “they/them,” and “he/him” pronouns; however, there are many others.
Always use the pronouns the person has asked you to use. If you don't know someone’s preferred set of pronouns, remember to ask. ?
