Profiling and automated decision-making at Taimi
Here, at Taimi, we strive to protect your privacy. Taimi aims at building meaningful connections and be a security place, where users may share their experience, show emotions and just be themselves. In our efforts to be transparent with regard to processing of users’ personal information, we explain below how “automated decision-making” and “profiling” may be used by Taimi.
According to Article 22 of the General Data Protection Regulation, “The data subject shall have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning him or her or similarly significantly affects him or her.”
There are 2 purposes for which Taimi uses automated decision making and profiling:
1. To facilitate connections between users.
Taimi uses the information you provide us with during onboarding (such as your age, gender, location, interests, occupations, etc.) along with information we collect from your use of the service (like your activity in the App, likes, etc.) to recommend compatible people to you. Additionally, Taimi provides a set of features (like filters for age, gender, distance, face photos available) to enable our users to search for and chat with other nearby users or any user in the world (“worldwide search”). We do not recommend users based on their racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or other beliefs.
2. As a part of our security systems.
Taimi employs automated decision-making and profiling as part of our moderation efforts to detect and remove spammers, non-compliant images, messages, bots, etc. through artificial intelligence. This processing may lead to blocking or suspension of your account on the mobile application and the restriction of your further use of the mobile application, without prejudice to other legal actions we could take.
As with any automated system, there is a chance for compliant accounts to be detected by our system as breaching our security. Please be assured that we give all our users an opportunity to express their point of view and contest the automated decision to our Support team at email@example.com.
