Taimi does not conduct criminal background screenings of its users.

Please be aware of the following Online Dating Safety Awareness:

Protecting Yourself from Sexual Assault and Dating Violence

  1. Use caution when communicating with a stranger who wants to meet you;

  2. You should not include your last name, electronic mail address, home address, phone number or any other identifying information in your online dating profile or electronic mail messages or communications until you feel comfortable with the other user. Stop communicating with anyone who pressures you for personal information or attempts in any way to coerce you into revealing such information;

  3. If you choose to have a face-to-face meeting with another user who you met on the online dating platform, tell a family member or friend where you will be meeting and when you will return. You should not agree to be picked up at your home. Always provide your own transportation to and from your date and meet in a public place with many people around;

  4. Anyone who is able to commit identity theft can also falsify a dating profile;

  5. You should block and report to Taimi a user whose behavior is suspicious, offensive, harassing, threatening, fraudulent, or involves a request for money or an attempt to sell a product or service. If you are the victim or survivor of sexual or intimate partner violence through the user you met on Taimi, you should report the incident to law enforcement and are not to blame and may seek support through national or local hotlines and services;

  6. You should be aware that users may provide false information in a dating profile;

  7. You should be aware that reporting criminal activity by another user may help prevent a perpetrator of a rape, assault, or financial crime from hurting or continuing to hurt others, and may be necessary for Taimi to take responsive action against the user who perpetrated the crime.

Protecting Yourself from Financial Crimes

Stop communicating with anyone who pressures you for financial information or attempts in any way to coerce you into revealing such information. You should not send money to a user you meet on Taimi, especially by wire transfer, even if the user claims to be experiencing an emergency. If you are the victim of a financial crime through the user you met on Taimi, you should report the incident to Taimi and to law enforcement.
