Taimi Partners with BHOC to Launch New Sexual Health Resources

This Pride Month, Taimi is proud to announce a vital update to our Safety Section, created in collaboration with Building Healthy Online Communities (BHOC). Together, we’re making sexual health information more accessible, affirming, and empowering for our community.

BHOC, a longtime advocate for digital sexual health outreach, helped us rethink what dating safely means in 2025. The new Safety Section includes updated HIV and STI prevention tips, respectful conversation starters for partners, and direct links to access free self-testing kits in the U.S., U.K., and Europe.

Emmett Patterson, Deputy Director of BHOC, shared why this partnership matters:

“Finding who and what we are into has been made so much more accessible with dating apps. But the hard part can sometimes be knowing how to have conversations about our sexual health. BHOC is proud to partner with Taimi on this guide to give you the confidence to have those tough but necessary conversations. Whether it’s learning how to respectfully ask about someone’s HIV status, talking about any prevention tools you use (like PrEP or doxyPEP), or discussing when you last got tested, Taimi users deserve easily accessible, affirming information to take charge of their health, so they can focus on doing what they love.”

We couldn’t agree more. From understanding how PrEP and PEP can help prevent HIV, to learning how herpes, HPV, or syphilis are transmitted, the new Safety Section keeps it real. You’ll find clear info on what to test for, how often to get tested (every three months, babes!), and what to ask your doctor – like whether you need a throat or anal swab. There’s also guidance on prevention tools like DoxyPEP, a medication taken after sex that helps reduce the risk of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis – because looking out for yourself is a love language.

And we didn’t stop there. Want to know where to get free HIV self-testing kits in the U.S. or book low-cost STI screenings in the U.K. and EU? We’ve got links. Curious about vaccines, like the one for HPV? It’s covered. Wondering how to bring up these topics with a new mutual? Our Safety Section offers ways to start a convo that are direct, respectful, and totally doable. We’re not only covering physical health but also the vital importance of talking about consent, as well as receiving and rejecting someone gracefully and kindly.

Because real care is honest, inclusive, and stigma-free – and you deserve nothing less.

Queer health is community health. When we look out for ourselves and each other, we make dating apps not just more fun but safer too.

This update is just one more way we’re celebrating Pride – not with rainbow logos or corporate fluff, but with action that uplifts and protects our users.

So this month, while you’re liking cute profiles and sending flirty gifs, take a second to check out the new Safety Section in the app. Stay informed, get tested, and date responsibly!
