LA Pride – A Grand Partnership and a Grand Purpose

Pride LA has two themes this year. For the Parade it is, “Peace, Love, Revolution.” For the Festival, it is “All Out With Pride.” Taimi’s current campaign of “America the Beautiful” fits perfectly – a focus on how freedom to be who we are, love who we love, and enjoy the peace that freedom brings,  is core to American values. Together, the message will ring loud and proud.

Let’s take a quick look at the history of LA Pride and then get into a quick guide on all of the events planned for the June 10-11 celebration.

What is CSW?

Not one of us is ignorant about the Stonewall Raid and Riots of 1969 in New York, on the now infamous Christopher Street. That event sparked the Pride movement in America.

In 1970, the Christopher Street West organization was formed and sponsored the first Pride event in Los Angeles. And for over five decades, CSW has been sponsoring LA Pride, as the numbers have grown to one of the largest such events in the nation.

We at Taimi felt that it was important that we do our part to partner up with CSW, not just to promote the events of this year’s celebration but also to be a part of the important message to be sent. That message is our “America the Beautiful” campaign – that we are beautiful, that all love is beautiful, that the values upon which our country was founded are beautiful.

What You Can Look Forward To

So, the calendar for LA Pride is pretty full, and it actually goes well beyond just the “official” June 10-11 dates. You can participate in any and all events as you choose. Here’s the lowdown. And here is the website you should go to. And when you check out the events, there will be a link to “Buy Tickets Now.” When you click on that link, you’ll get all of the details.

June 8: Pride is Universal

This is an after-hours event at Universal Studios. You can get in at 4 pm, but the event actually takes place from 9 pm – 1 am that night.

There will be live DJs, meet-and-greets with movie characters, drag performances, and other surprise events.

VIP admission is also available, so check that out too.

June 9-10 Pride in the Park

Where: LA State Historic Park on Spring St.

Featuring: Mariah Carey and Megan Thee Stallion

Tickets: Single day or weekend pass; VIP options available

Other Amenities: Food, Vendors, and storage lockers available for rent.

June 11: LA Pride Parade & Pride Village

As always, the Parade is free and will go down Hollywood Blvd., Highland Ave., and Cahuenga Blvd.

There will be surprise performances, lots of music, and more along the way.

Also along the way, there will be the Pride Village – a street fair with food, live performance, food, drink, and more. You won’t want to miss it.

BTW – the Parade will be broadcast live on the local ABC TV channel for those who cannot attend.

June 16 – LGBTQ Night at Dodger Stadium

For those of you who plan to stay beyond the main events and who are into America’s favorite pastime (baseball), here is a chance to show your pride and cheer on whichever team is your favorite (Dodgers vs. Giants).

Choose the Pride Night Ticket Package and you’ll get a free 2023 Pride Night T-shirt.

Keep Checking

While the major events have been scheduled and are the big events of LA Pride, there will probably be updates as the countdown continues. Keep accessing the website, so you’ll stay current with anything else that could be of interest to you.
