Millions of LGBTQ+ folks have their own stories of coming out to family and friends, standing up for equal rights, accepting themselves, and dealing with hardships. Each October the US, Canada and Australia celebrate LGBT History Month by honoring the pioneers that aimed to create a safer and more inclusive world. We acknowledge the efforts of those that fought for equal rights and changed the status quo. The LGBT History Month is about highlighting the accomplishments of LGBTQ+ heroes that stood up against oppression, judgment, and discrimination.
