Honoring TransParent Day

Each year, on the first Sunday of November, the world celebrates TransParent Day. Since 2009, when the initiative was established, it has been a great honor for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies to honor the Trans community’s rights.

Being a big and inclusive family, Taimi actively supports the Trans community and deeply understands the struggles of transitioning and being accepted in today’s world. One of the crucial parts of this acceptance is the one that comes from parents. Unfortunately, very often, Trans kids don’t feel safe at home and cannot grow up with their identity of choice.

But what about children growing up with Trans parents? Today we want to draw attention to life and love between transgender parents and their children and transgender children and their families.

It has been found that despite relatively high rates of legal and social discrimination reported by transgender parents, the majority of them described the relationships with their children as positive (no surprise here). The research also states that children of transgender parents aren’t that different from other children regarding gender identity, sexuality, or other developmental milestones.

Our mutual societal goal today is to debunk all sorts of myths about trans parents (including those transitioning) having a negative influence on a child’s wellbeing, simply by way of gender identity. In fact, Trans parents in no way detrimentally impact their kids’ overall development and provide a loving and supportive environment for their children.

At Taimi, we believe that Trans rights are human rights.

As the most inclusive LGBTQ+ platform, we are open to everybody, no matter their identity, gender, or sex. Our mission is to fight transphobia, homophobia, and biphobia worldwide and provide a secure space for LGBTQ+ people to be who they are and express themselves. That is why we are dedicated to creating a world where trans people — single or taken, married with or without kids — will feel happy, safe, and loved.

Trans parents deserve to be treated just like any other family in our society. So let’s dedicate this day to celebrating the progress made in accepting Trans parents — and keeping up our work on defending and fighting for Trans parents’ rights!
