Celebrating Lesbian Visibility Week

Taimi — world’s largest LGBTQ+ platform wants all of us to celebrate great lesbian womxn in our lives.

Lesbian Visibility Week 2021 is April 26 — May 2.

Taimi — the Home of Diversity reminds everyone that Lesbian Visibility Week starts this Monday! The week aims to encourage people to show solidarity with every kind of lesbian womxn in the LGBTQ+ community.

Lesbian Visibility Week celebrates the incredible diversity of women loving women around the world. It is important for all of us who are LGBTQ+ as well as allies to be the voice of unity when it comes to recognizing incredible LGBTQ+ womxn around the globe.

Research shows that gay womxn often hide their sexual orientation and identity at work, in fact they are twice as unlikely to be out as gay man.

Unfortunately in many places around the world lesbians tend to face double discrimination. Identifying as a woman who is LGBTQ+ can often come with awful consequences in societies that are misogynistic and homophobic.

So it is crucial to have visibility weeks and days that celebrate and support LBGTQ+ womxn.

TAIMI, wants to salute all lesbians and remind them to be visible, to speak out against bullying, anger, harassment and discrimination.

So be sure to celebrate all the incredible lesbians in your life this week, but remember being strong, resilient, proud is not limited to a calendar!
